If you can not book for this 2017-18 season, for sure go ahead and get booked for the 2018-19 season. Recent Hunt with David from the USA. Awesome Duck HuntHello to all Hunters. Dream of hunting in another country? Dream of killing 350 to 500 doves or 30 to 50 Ducks in one day? But, like me, just cant come up with that money at one time? Nicaragua Hunting Adventures understands and has come up with a program just for you.Easy Installment PlanNicaragua Hunting Adventures has come up with an Easy Installment Plan for all of us hunters who just cant come up with that payment all at one time. This program has so many benefits to mention, and also has a few drawbacks as well. First let start with the benefits. 1. No Interest Charged That's right. No interest. Why penalize someone for not being rich, or having the ability to come up with a large amount of money all in one time. Absolutely no interest at any time. What ever package you choose, that is what you pay. No added amount for making it on payments. 2. Easy on the Family Budget As we all know, when taking out a little at a time, is not near as painful as seeing that large amount all coming out at one time. It spreads your money around somewhat to allow for other important things to also be taken care of. 3. Don't have to Discipline Yourself to Savings I know for me, If I do not make the payment to someone, and try to save it on my own! Crash... Never works out it seems. If I try to save it in an account, jar, or even in a break proof piggy bank. You know its there, you have access to it, and its gone before you know it, and can never make it back up. Your hunt is over. Make the payment, and then you know its already spent, and you are safe for your hunt. 4. Cut your Losses Faster In the case where an emergency or accident, or god forbid, something bad happens in the family. You can stop the payments, and just have them held for one year. If you cant make it even after the one year, then you have not lost as much as if you would have paid the total amount for a hunt up front. This will depend upon how many months you have paid, but in general, it will save you in the event something bad does happen. 5. Locked in Prices Once you have made your reservations, and started your payments, the price will not increase. Even if the industry has a price hike, your price is locked in at what we agreed on. 6. Your Money is Safe and Guaranteed All payments will be under contract, and your money guaranteed by Nicaragua Hunting Adventures and protected by your payment processor, according to which method you use. If there is a qualified cancellation under the terms and conditions, all your money will be returned. You will also receive a monthly statement from NHA, letting you know how much is in your account, and a record of all your payments. Since we use PayPal for all payments, your money is recorded and you have a online record and Payment Protection via PayPal. 7. No Recurring Payments or Credit Cards Needed We do not set up any recurring payment methods with you. You will receive an bill each month on the agreed date, and you can pay that bill through any of our offered methods. 1. Loose your Money Paid In
There are several reasons you could loose the money you have paid in. If you do not make your payment. You will have a 30 day grace period in which to make your payment. If you miss the grace period, at that time your account is put on hold. This means, we could not accept any more payments on your account. BUT, we will hold what ever money you have paid in on your account for one year. This will give you the chance to re-book a hunt with us. At that time, we will deduct what ever you have paid in, and the remaining deposit or balance will be due. If you do not re-book within one year, all the money you have paid in, is lost, no refund. 2. Dates are Not Secure When availing of the Easy Installment Plan, you will choose tentative dates of your hunting trip. These dates are not guaranteed to you, UNTIL you have paid in enough to cover 50% of the total hunt cost. Until that time, if another customer pays up front for those dates, we will have to move you to the closest dates matching your request. So they are pro and cons, but still a good program for some people. So if you think you would be interested in the Easy Installment Plan, just click on the Terms and Conditions to find out more. Then if you are ready, just click on the Sign me up button, and you are on your way.
Nicaragua is fast becoming the next big hot spot for high-volume wing shooting. Being one of the best kept secrets for Ducks and Doves in Central America for many years. Hunters are now seeing the advantage of Duck and Dove Hunting in Nicaragua. The ease of bringing firearms, the beauty of the country, the modern cities, great food, friendly people, beaches, high volume of waterfowl, doves and pigeons are just the appetizers. With most of the high volume duck and dove hunters going to Argentina, Nicaragua's main course of attraction is the cheaper airline tickets, flight time of only 3 hours from Houston or Miami, direct flights with no transfers, no delays. A group of guys, can come down for a weekend hunt, be back home ready for work on Monday morning, all at HALF the cost of going to Argentina. The sacrifice being, Nicaragua has around 60% of the birds that Argentina has. BUT, harvesting 300 to 500 birds per day, is still a more than satisfactory high volume shoot. Especially according to moderate bag limits in most other countries.
'So, with that being said, as Nicaragua is fast becoming popular for high volume wing shooting, everyone wants to get their piece of the action. We are seeing more and more outfitters, guides, booking agents and just individuals offering hunts to willing foreigners. While most foreigners looking for a hunt just assume, if they have a website or an advertisement they must be a legally licensed company. NOT SO. Recent events we here at Nicaragua Hunting Adventures have encountered, and with confirmed incidents being reported in the Duck and Dove Hunting community, we can see a problem that is fast arising, and only looks to get worse as time goes on. Not only are problems occurring with non licensed outfitters, but also problems with some licensed outfitters hunting on private lands, government lands, and fields that they have no permission to be in. All in the hopes to grab any chance of getting their clients a good hunt at what ever risk. Problem with this is, the risk is being put on the foreign clients, and they don't even realize it. Let me explain more how this works :
" THEY ARE ONLY 4 PERMITS FOR DUCK AND DOVE HUNTING OUTFITTERS IN NICARAGUA"
All Duck and Dove Hunting Outfitters in Nicaragua are required to have a licenses to operate. The governing body for all hunting activities in Nicaragua is Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (MARENA). Established in 1979 by the government. They are in charge of environmental protection and of the study, planning, and management of the Nicaragua's natural resources. It was formerly known as the Nicaraguan Institute of Natural Resources and the Environment (IRENA). They are ONLY 4 permits for Duck and Dove Hunting Outfitters in released in Nicaragua. Nicaragua Hunting Adventures are proud to say that we are 1 of the 4 Outfitters. The well know Outdoors man's Buck McNeely came and hunted with us, and even aired us on his television program. We had to go through an extensive due diligence with Buck's legal team before we could even host him in our company.
" HOW GUNS ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO HUNTING OUTFITTERS IN NICARAGUA"
To explain more how hunting and guns are related in Nicaragua, first one thing needs to be realized up front. Its simple and easy, and they are no exceptions. A foreigner CANNOT own, or carry a firearm UNLESS they are a resident of Nicaragua. So in essence when you bring your guns here, you are getting a permit to use them only in the presence and guidance of a licensed gun dealer in Nicaragua. So, simply said, you are putting your guns in the control of the gun dealer in Nicaragua. While they are your property, you may not carry them without the presence of the gun dealer or one of his authorized staffing. You may not use them outside the intended reason for bringing them to Nicaragua. Example, you can not bring them for Duck and Dove hunting, and use them, or have them outside that type of hunting program. Your guns will always stay with the Outfitter, not with you at your hotel. Or at least that is the way it is supposed to be. All guns, shells, and licensing are governed by DAEM . DAEM refers to DAEM (Departmento de Armas, Explosivas, y Municiones) office of the police. Military is also involved in this department. So you can see how guns are directly related to hunting outfitters in Nicaragua. Having a firearm without a permit is automatic confiscation, jail time and a fine on top of it.
" THESE ARE THE PROBLEMS IN WHICH YOU SHOULD LOOK FOR AND BE AWARE OF "
GETTING STOPPED IN ROAD CHECKS WITHOUT THE PROPER GUN PERMITS OR LICENSEE.
To be clear, even us, Nicaragua Hunting Adventures being in business over 50 years, and one of the pioneers of Duck and Dove Hunting in Nicaragua. We also have to go through road checks, field checks, and clear out all our paperwork with the police or military. This is one of the things you could experience while hunting here in Nicaragua. Some recent events with so called proclaimed outfitters, have surfaced recently where the group of hunters and proclaimed outfitters were stopped in road checks, or in field checks, where guns were confiscated and foreigners arrested for reasons such as :
" THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT REALIZE BUT ARE FACTS OF LIFE "
Best thing is just choose the correct outfitter, with the correct credentials, and all of these problems will disappear. You will need not to worry with any of them. BUT, for those of you who do not take the time to listen, or are to stubborn, or think things will be ok. Dont complain later, when you loose that firearm that you might never see again, or will cost you 3 times its worth to get back. Or when you are setting in that Nicaragua jail, and believe me, you don't want to be in a Nicaragua jail. You can think where you went wrong, and how much of your savings are you going have to spend to get back home. All when you could have just taken the time to ask a few simple questions, and little extra effort to find the right company to deal with. INTRODUCTION TO NICARAGUA DUCK AND DOVE HUNTING

Hello everyone, just wanted to add a quick update to this blog post. In light of recent events, the most important thing to choose the best hunting package is to make sure your outfitter is licensed. They are only 4 licenses given out by the government of Nicaragua to operate Duck and Dove Hunting trips. Nicaragua Hunting Adventures IS one of those 4. I can advise strongly, to make sure the outfitter you choose is one. Being a foreigner, and if caught up in a mess such as this, it will always be the fault of the one with the money. If you get my meaning. It could cost you lots of money to get out of this, if it happened to you. Please see this article for more info : Nicaragua Duck and Dove Hunting - Licensed Outfitters
So you are looking for a hunting adventure in Nicaragua? You are searching all the different outfitter and booking agent sites, trying to find the right price and inclusions. Some have shells, some do not. Some have bird boys, some do not. Some do not offer any extras, and refuse to even consider it. It gets to be a job to find the best deal for the money, and get all the things you want and need, but still within a budget you can afford. You will find most outfitters offer just a basic package. Just enough to get by, but not to much. Here at Nicaragua Hunting Adventures, we look at more than just the hunt. We look at the whole experience. With this being our 50th year doing duck and dove hunting, fishing and tours in Nicaragua. We feel we have a good grasp on what different types of hunters want.
So, I am going to lead you through information and basic tips so you know how to choose what to ask for when taking your Nicaragua Hunting Adventure. No matter what outfitter you choose.
Hunt - This surely should be in your package, seeing as how you will not know where the hunting fields are at, and trying to find them or meet the outfitter with your own transportation can be a headache and time wasted. So make sure your transportation to and from the fields is included. A special note, this should also include your trip to and from lunch. The outfitter has taken you to the fields, and he should take you and bring you back from lunch. God forbid they leave you in the fields, and come back in the evening to get you. I am sure you would be pissed and quite hungry.
Leisure - This is something that most outfitters do not offer. Here at Nicaragua Hunting Adventures, we do offer this, and feel it is a very important part of your all around experience. You arrive at lunch time, your hunt is not until the next day, you have the whole evening free, and your outfitter has dropped you off at the hotel, OR your hunt is finished for the day, your outfitter has dropped you back at your hotel, how will you get to dinner? You want to go out after dinner, and visit the mall, clubs, spas, or just see the local culture. Here are your choices. Have a car and driver/guide as part of your package, or use hotel taxi, or local taxi. If using a car and guide supplied by your outfitter, you have a knowledgeable guide that knows Managua, will stay with you all evening, show you the best places to eat, to party, drink, or any other activity you would want to do. OR get public transport, haggle over the fair, maybe get taken to some taxi driver friends place, that might not be up to par with what you are looking for. Plus, the condition of some public taxi is less than desirable. By the time you pay for all of this, and the headache, been better off getting the car and driver from the outfitter. Now, I will make note, that if you are not planning to do much night out, or other activities. Just hunt, sleep, eat, having a car and driver might not be worth it. They are many fine eating places inside and close to the hotels, so it would not be a big deal getting to dinner. Advise - If you are planning on nite outs, and doing a lot of activities outside of hunting, the car and driver/guide is invaluable. You should have it included. If you are just after the hunt, and nothing else, it would not be worth the expense.
I hope this has helped you to be able to know what you will want to include in your hunting packages for Nicaragua. Here at Nicaragua Hunting Adventures, we have always known that each hunter is different, each group is different. Not everyone wants the same things, or even needs them. We pride ourselves on be flexible, and doing our best to give each client what they want with their hunting experience. We have even dedicated a special web page for our client that the can Build Your Own Package. This allows you to pick and choose what you want and need, and then I will price it accordingly for you.
Lake Managua, black belly ducks, and Peacock Bass were the flavor for the day. During our recent scouting, found an island off the northern edge of Lake Managua, teaming with Black Belly, and Teal. With the hard rains we have been getting, and cooler temperatures the ducks are gathering around this island in crazy numbers. Comes at a great time, as clients are starting to pour in for the prime season.
While noticing all of the ducks, we also noticed how the water was exploding with Peacock Bass. Well, that was just irresistible, and we had to try our luck. You know for the clients sake, someone has to do it. For sure, not only were they lots of them, but good size also. Great for clients who want a evening of fishing after an awesome morning of duck hunting.
Not only is the hunting and fishing great. But the scenic views in Nicaragua are nothing less than breathtaking. It truly is a beautiful country, and full of many great adventures.

Migration has started, although we only managed to get down some black bellie ducks, we saw a lot of Blue Wing Teal already. The following pics are from HUETE peninsula on the NORTH of Lake Nicaragua. You will notice how lack of rain has left it dry and rocky with small pond formations which work very well during the windy months and the ducks cannot RAFT in the middle of the lake... We are starting to Bait these little pond for upcoming groups. (which is a legal practice in Nicaragua.)
Sitting up a blind on the small islands, with a few decoys has proven to be a excellent way to get the teal to come in close.
What a great job we have. Scouting for the clients, and getting to kill some ducks while doing it. Well someone has to do it, might as well be us.
For those of you wanting to hunt in Nicaragua. Now is the time to get in. Its going to be a really good year. High volume of birds, weather is looking good, its going to be a good year. Dont miss it.
