For those of you who love diving, well this is the spot for you. World renowned for its diving, Big Corn and Little Corn Island are the place you want to be. With still many large reef systems, some that are almost untouched by divers, it offers you the chance to see pristine corals, fish, and sea creatures almost untouched by man. The PADI instructors, boats, equipment is world class. Take that along with the personal feeling you will get from the small island atmosphere. It's a true adventure you will want to experience.
The worst drawback to going to little corn is the logistics. While Nicaragua is a thriving metropolis in the city areas, they still lack a lot of infrastructure on the outlying islands. Which in turn means that only 3 flights a week leave from Managua to Corn Island, with only one or possibly two flights per day. So with DCS codes, and the transfer times from the airport to the islands, you would need to have a minimum of 2 days allowed to experience this Nicaraguan Adventure.
2 Nights / 3 Days / 3 dives
2 to 3 persons - $ 1560.00 per person
4 and above - $ 1370.00 per person
Remember, flights are just on certain days, and many other factors are involved in getting this planned out for the right time frame. So you will need to be flexible with dates, in order for me to work this out along with a hunting package.
Things to consider:
• Flights leave Managua all day, but the only two flights that will work to arrive with the boat schedule are 6 or 8 am morning flights, or 2:30pm evening flight. Flight time approx. 1 and ½ hours.
• Boats schedule is :
Big Corn to Little Corn – 10 am and 4pm
Little Corn to Big Corn – 6:30 am and 1:30pm
Travel time is approx. 45 min.
• Divers are not supposed to dive 8 to 12 hours after flying, and 12 to 18 hours after diving. Must watch the scheduling.
• This has to be at least 2 night trip. Cannot be done in less.
• Must know if clients have their PADI course cards. If not, takes longer.
